The City of Nampa Parks and Recreation Department has announced the planning and design of a new dog park. You can read the full article below!
“The proposed dog park will be constructed on Smith Ave. between Midway Rd. and Middleton Rd., located in the west part of Nampa. The new park will help meet the demands of Nampa’s population growth and will be funded by using impact fees collected for parks.
“The Nampa Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing healthy outdoor spaces for our community,” said Darrin Johnson, Parks and Recreation Director. “The new dog park will have a variety of walking paths that will allow our community the opportunity to safely exercise and play while allowing their dog to run off leash.”
The Amity Dog Park, which was Nampa’s first off-leash dog park, is located in East Nampa on 2nd Street S. and opened to the public in July of 2009. After the Amity Dog Park opened, it quickly became one of Nampa’s most used and popular destination parks in the city. Each day, hundreds of people and their dog(s) can be found at Amity Dog Park.
We invite the community to reserve a time to meet with Parks Staff on February 4, 2021 or give input by completing the survey by visiting our website online at www.nampaparks.org . For more information contact 208-468-5858.”
